Requirements For Trading Licenses

Procedure

• Certificate of incorporation, particulars of the company and articles of incorporation – certified copies.

• Lease - certified copy

• Sublease agreement

• Health certificate of the premises to be used, obtainable from maseru city council (mcc) / public health offices situated in rural areas. Original

• Environmental clearance certificate, obtainable from national environmental secretariat (nes) – original.

• It takes five (5) days to approve or reject license application

• Tax clearance

• License fees: different per business type/ proprietor/individual/company

• Certified pass-port copies of the shareholders/ officers of the company.

Manufacturing License: Small Scale Industry

• RESERVED FOR LESOTHO CITIZENS ONLY

• Certificate of incorporation, particulars of the company and articles of incorporation – certified copies, (in a case of the company).

• Educational certificates (for contractors)

• Pass-port copies (certified) or any ID

• Application fee M50.00 and M100.00 license fee

• Processed and issued promptly upon submission of application

Manufacturing License (Medium and Large Scale Industry)

• Certificate of incorporation, particulars of the company and articles of incorporation – certified copies, (in a case of the company)

• Lease or sub lease agreement – certified copy

• Health certificate of the premises to be used, obtainable from maseru city council (mcc) / public health offices situated in rural areas. Original

• Environmental clearance certificate, obtainable from national environmental secretariat (nes) – original.

• Certified passport copies of the director and shareholders of the company

• Application fee of M500.00

• License fee M3000.00 for approved applications

Additional Requirements for Manufacturing of Food and Pharmaciticals

• Certificate of proof on the tests done on the product to be manufactured, locally or internationally

• Certificate of food handlers, obtainable from the ministry of health

• License issued in one (1) day
